'Nose to Tail' Exam

At your first appointment our team will complete a full 'nose to tail' examination of your pet! We take a look at your pet from head to tail and get a good assessment of your pets overall health.

Review of Your Pet's Health History & Habits

During your first visit, we'll also review the health history and habits of your pet and will take the time to answer any questions you have.

• Should I call ahead to book an appointment?

  Yes, if at all possible, please book your appointment in advance to ensure we have room in our schedule to see your pet. In the event that your pet needs emergency care during our regular business hours, please contact us immediately, and we'll do everything we can to see your pet right away.

• What types of pets do you treat?

  We take care of small domestic pets including dogs, cats, and rodents.

• Do you offer grooming services?

• What methods of payment do you accept?

  We accept payment via debit, credit card (VISA, MC, AMEX) or cash. All services require payment and unfortunately, we do not offer payment plans or delayed billing.

• Why should I have my pet vaccinated?

  Vaccinations extend your pet's life by protecting them from diseases like rabies, distemper, parvovirus, infectious hepatitis, and feline leukemia among others. Vaccinations also prevent the spread of infectious diseases among animals, and vaccinating against zoonotic diseases such as Rabies and Leptospirosis can help protect humans as well.

• Why should I have my pet spayed or neutered?

  Spaying and neutering can have many health benefits for pets. For example, it can help reduce the risk of your pet developing certain types of cancer late on in life. One of the primary benefits of spaying and neutering is that it helps prevent the pet population from increasing.

• What should I do if my pet requires emergency care?

  If your pet requires emergency care during our regular office hours, please contact us straight away. If your pet needs emergency care during evening, weekend, or holiday hours, please contact Huronia Veterinary Emergency Clinic at (705) 722-0377 for after-hour monitoring and emergency care.
